Breakfast is by far my favorite meal. Even when life is a complete chaos and that every minute of the day is accounted for, I still take at least 15 minutes to “calmly” share a toast with my son. By doing so, no matter what happens throughout the day, I’ll have worked towards attaining my #1 priority: quality family time.
Sometimes, we’ll have something as humble as a bowl of oats or a piece of old bread. Other days, we indulge in exquisite and exotic breakfast like this honeyed-yogurt with figs.
Bon appétit!
Honey + Cardamom Yogurt with Figs, Pistachios and Rose Petals

Ingredients
Yogurt:
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 1/2 tsp orange blossom water
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp cardamom
- 4 dry rosebuds, crushed
- 1L plain yogurt
- To serve:
- 1/4 cup shelled, roaster pistachios
- 4 dry rosebuds, crushed
- 9 figs
Directions
- Make the honey cardamom syrup : mix together the honey, cardamom, cinnamon, crushed rose buds and orange blossom water.
- Mix half of the honey mixture into the yogurt and stir well to combine.
- Place a cheesecloth or a clean dish towel in a strainer and pour the yogurt in the cheesecloth. Fold the remaining fabric on top of the yogurt. Place the strainer on top of a bowl and let sit on the counter for 2 to 4 hours, depending on desired thickness (the longer you let it sit, the thicker it gets).
- To serve, place the yogurt in a shallow plate, dress with the remaining honey syrup and decorate with whole (or halved) figs, crushed pistachios and crushed dry rose buds.
Yummy!!!! Comme ça a l’air bon ! Merci Julie !
